Because of this, translators bear a particularly strong social and ethical responsibility not only to the clients they serve but also to society-at-large.
Training of Translators
We are highly experienced in the recruiting, screening, testing, evaluating and training of our translators. We maintain a panel of excellent professional translators in a variety of professional areas of expertise. All of our staff members are professionally trained in full accordance with our corporate philosophy, work ethic and 4-step translation process.

Dawn Hoo
Education & Experience:
Dawn Hoo, translator and proofreader, majored in medical English from 2006 to 2010 at Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine. With good mastery of both medicine and English, she started her translation career while still in school, and worked for a professional translation company in Shenzhen upon graduation. She began translating research papers in medicine and biology part-time for New Bridge Translation in June 2010 and has worked full-time since May 2011. She has translated over 3 million Chinese characters/English words.
Areas of Expertise: medicine, biology.
Eli Hung
Education & Experience:
Dr. Eli Hung, English translator and proofreader, studied at the Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology from 2005 and obtained a doctoral degree in clinical medicine in 2014. Since 2008, Eli has translated many medical dissertations and academic reports for professors at school and doctors at work. Since 2011, he has been working with New Bridge Translation, translating and proofreading academic papers.
Areas of Expertise: clinical medicine, basic medicine, sociology.
Jun Wang
Education & Experience:
Jun Wang, senior translator and proofreader, has considerable education in both basic science and languages. From 1998 to 2002, he studied biology at Hubei Normal University. From 2002 to 2005, he studied genetics for his master¡¯s degree at Beijing Normal University. From 2005 to 2008, he worked as a teacher of English-language biology terminology at Wuhan Biological Institute. From 2008 to 2011, he worked as a full-time translator at Translation Top in Shanghai, including a year of interpretation for the laying of the Hainan Strait submarine cable. Since January 2011, he has worked with New Bridge Translation, translating and proofreading academic papers. He has translated over 8 million Chinese characters/English words during his teaching and translation career of more than 10 years.
Areas of Expertise: biology, medical and pharmaceutical industries, environmental chemistry.
Lane Lau
Education & Experience:
Lane Lau, senior translator, majored in scientific English from 1988 to 1993 in the Foreign Language Department at the West China University of Medical Sciences. After graduation, Lane worked in a pharmaceutical company in Changsha as an English secretary. In 1994, he worked in a management consulting company in Shenzhen, where he translated numerous materials, including guidelines, training manuals, quality management procedure documents, and commercial manuals related to ISO 9000 series standards, including BSI (British Standards Institution) training course manuals for quality management system auditors. Since 1995, Lane has been working with Rock Lau¡¯s translation companies as a full-time professional translator. He is highly regarded by his clients for his professionalism and rich experience of more than 20 years in translation.
Areas of Expertise: medical and pharmaceutical materials, business management procedures, commercial contracts, and other nontechnical documents.
Renshan Xu
Education & Experience:
Renshan Xu, senior translator, has had extensive education and training in both technical and linguistic areas. From 1994 to 1997, he studied the silicate chemical industry and computer applications in the Department of Materials at Tongji University. From 2002 to 2004, he studied English for a degree from the Guangdong University for Foreign Studies. Before joining New Bridge Translation in 2005, he had 6 years of technical translation experience, at Guangdong SGS Technical Services Co., Ltd., from 1997 to 2000 and at an information technology company in Guangzhou as senior website translator from 2000 to 2004. Xu enjoys his career as a translator and has translated over 15 million Chinese characters/English words during his translation career of nearly 20 years. He has translated and published a book on information technology.
Areas of Expertise: information technology (software), quality management, logistics, chemical industry, and electro-mechanics.
Rock Lau
Education & Experience:
Rock Lau, senior translator and proofreader, studied business administration in the School of Management at the Jilin University of Technology from 1986 to 1990. After graduation, Rock was engaged in quality assurance work in a joint venture for 3 years. From 1993, he worked as an ISO 9000 consultant and concurrently as a translator with a Hong Kong consulting company for 2 years. In 1995, Rock founded the first private translation company in Guangzhou and operated the company for 5 years. Successful operation of this company during those years established his solid reputation in Guangzhou¡¯s translation sector. In 2000, Rock completed several MBA courses provided by the University of West Sidney. In 2004, he founded Guangzhou New Bridge Translation Co., Ltd., which very quickly became one of the most respected and well-known translation companies in Guangzhou. During his career of more than 20 years in translation, Rock has translated and proofread over 20 million Chinese characters/English words.

Xianyong Wang
Education & Experience:
Xianyong Wang, senior technical translator, majored in chemical engineering at the East China University of Chemical Technology from 1987 to 1991. After graduation, he engaged in quality inspection work in two chemical factories. From 2000 to 2007, he worked as a technical translator at Shenzhen Hamg Shing Industry Co., Ltd. Since 2005, he has worked with New Bridge Translation, first part time and then full time. During his nearly 20 years in translation, Mr. Wang has translated over 15 million Chinese characters/English words.
Areas of Expertise: electronics, mechanics, chemical engineering and technology, and geology.
Xin Zhao
Education & Experience:
Dr. Xin Zhao, senior translator and proofreader, studied clinical medicine at Xiang Ya School of Medicine in the Central South University from 1997 to 2002. After graduation, he studied pharmacology at Peking University, where he earned his doctorate in 2007. From 2007 to 2010, he did postdoctoral research in the State Key Laboratory of Medical Neurobiology at Fudan University. Zhao¡¯s research has focused on sleep and pain. He has published more than 10 articles in journals listed in the Science Citation Index, such as Neuropharmacology and the European Journal of Pharmacology. Zhao has more than 10 years of experience in technical translation and editing. Since 2010, he has worked as a senior medical translator at New Bridge Translation and has translated more than 200 academic papers.
